Philadelphia 76ers General Manager Search: Jeff Bower To Reportedly Meet Sixers

Stay connected for news and updates

The Philadelphia 76ers general manager search continues. Former New Orleans Hornets front office executive Jeff Bower is reportedly going to meet with the Sixers this week to talk about the general manager position opening (via Ken Berger).

Bower was the general manager of the Hornets from 2002-2003, 2005-2010. He also served as interim head coach of the team during the 2009-2010 season when the Hornets fired Byron Scott. Bower is a native of Hollidaysburg, Pa. He is not alone as a candidate for the general manager position.

During the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas, former Portland Trail Blazers front office executive Tom Penn reportedly met with Sixers managing partner Joshua Harris and interviewed for the position on July 22.

The person who lands the Sixers general manager job will eventually replace Philadelphia's current president, Rod Thorn.
