Free agent guard Lou Williams took to twitter on Friday to say that he won't be returning to the Philadelphia 76ers next season.
Philly, I appreciate you all. Unfortunately I will not be coming back, as an organization they decided to move in a different direction.
— Lou Williams (@TeamLou23) July 6, 2012
The 76ers have had an active Friday, acquiring Nick Young on a reported one-year, $6-million deal and using the amnesty clause on Elton Brand.
Williams came off the bench to average a team-leading 14.9 points last season to go along with 3.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds. During Philadelphia's surprise playoff run to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, Williams averaged 11.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.1 rebounds. As a 25-year-old with a real ability to score, he is likely to generate significant interest around the league.
