Jerome Harrison Brain Tumor Discovered In Physical, According To Report

Doctors discovered a brain tumor during a physical required after Detroit Lions running back Jerome Harrison was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to an ESPN report.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that the trade which would have sent Eagles running back Ronnie Brown to Detroit might actually save Harrison's life.

"Without trade, Jerome Harrison doesn't get physical. Without physical, doctors don't find brain tumor. Trade might have saved his life," Schefter tweeted Thursday afternoon.

The Lions agreed to send Harrison and a seventh-round draft pick in 2013 to Philadelphia in exchange for Brown prior to Tuesday's trade deadline, but the trade was voided by the NFL Wednesday after Harrison failed a physical. The Eagles did not disclose why Harrison failed the physical and would not comment on Schefter's report, citing concerns for Harrison's privacy and the fact that he is a Detroit Lion.
