The nightmare season for the Philadelphia Eagles continues as quarterback, Michael Vick has reportedly been ruled out with broken ribs for Sunday's must-win game against the division-leading New York Giants, according to a report by Geoff Mosher of Delaware Online.
... the Pro Bowl quarterback has already been ruled out against the Giants, The News Journal has learned.
Vick won't play in the major division showdown, an NFL source said, which leaves Vince Young to make his first start in almost one year.
At 3-6 – already having lost once to the 6-3 Giants – the Eagles can all but kiss their hopes of a division title good-bye if they lose Sunday night's contest, which would technically drop them four games back of the division, with six games remaining.
Vick has been beaten up all year long and has underperformed to the standard he set for himself last season, throwing 21 touchdowns to only six interceptions. This season he has 11 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and eight fumbles.
Backup Vince Young hasn't started a game in a year and he's only thrown one pass this season – which he completed to the other team for an interception.
From a betting standpoint look for the line to move drastically with Vince Young as the starter. The Giants are currently four-point favorites.
