NFL Playoff Picture: Eagles Postseason Hopes Still Technically Alive

The Eagles postseason hopes are all but over, but that doesn't mean we can't talk about them.

The Philadelphia Eagles postseason hopes are all but dead. The Eagles beat the Dolphins 26-10 on Sunday to improve to 5-8, but as the playoff picture comes into focus, it's increasingly evident that Philadelphia will need an outlandish playoff scenario to reach to postseason.

The Eagles have fallen out of the infographic on NFL.com's Playoff Picture page, behind the likes of Arizona (6-7) and Seattle (5-7), which plays of Monday Night Football.

With the Giants and Cowboys sitting at 7-6, Philadelphia would need major help to climb into the drivers seat in the NFC East. That would involve Philadelphia winning out against the Jets, Cowboys and Redskins, while Dallas and New York finishing no better than 8-8. The Eagles would then win a tiebreaker against both teams.

Sure, it could happen, but don't bet your mortgage on it. According to PlayoffStatus.com, the Eagles have about a two percent chance of snagging one of the final two wild card spots. So you're saying there's a chance!
