One team's trash could be another team's treasure.

St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo is expected to be fired at the end of the season, and the San Diego Union-Tribute reports that it is "all but certain" he will join head coach Andy Reid's staff as a defensive coordinator.

First, the Eagles would have to fire current defensive coordinator Juan Castillo. Under Castillo's watch, Philadelphia's talented defense struggled out of the gates before righting itself in recent weeks. Reid gave Castillo a vote of confidence earlier this week.

Spagnuolo was a well-regarded Eagles assistant coach from 1999-2006 before leaving to become the New York Giants' defensive coordinator from 2007-09. With New York, he built the defensive strategy that allowed the Giants to knock off the previously undefeated Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.

In three seasons with the Rams, the 52-year old Spagnuolo has mustered just 10 wins.
