Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report, Week 17: LeSean McCoy, Asante Samuel Miss Practice, Statuses Unsure

Stay connected for news and updates

Running back LeSean McCoy and cornerback Asante Samuel missed practice on Wednesday. Coach Andy Reid seemed more optimistic about McCoy's chances to play on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy did not participate in practice on Wednesday, but coach Andy Reid maintained that the Pro Bowler could possibly play on Sunday during Philadelphia's regular season finale against the Washington Redskins.

"Well, it's not a high ankle sprain so we'll just see how he does here. If he can play, he'll play. He wants to play. We'll see how he does," said Reid.

The Eagles have been mathematically eliminated from postseason contention, putting into question why they would risk letting their star running back rush back from injury.

Cornerback Asante Samuel also missed practice. Tackle Todd Herrmans (ankle), defensive tackle Trevor Laws (knee), linebacker Brian Rolle (ankle) and defensive end Darryl Tapp (ribs) were limited in their participation.

"We'll see, I think it will be a stretch for him to get there," Reid said about Samuel. "He's got some bleeding back there, it showed up on Monday kind of in that upper hamstring area, so I think it'll be a stretch. But he's going to try to do everything to play. It's not by will that he's not getting better."
