Phils, Eagles, Sixers, Flyers... are you 4 for 4?
This morning, Kyle Eckel, who had a cup of coffee with the Eagles a few years ago decided to play a joke on people and claim that Jon Gruden had been secretly snuck into the city and would soon be replacing Andy Reid as head coach. As hard as it was to believe, some fringe news sources actually started to pick it up. Eventually, Kyle Eckel himself went on local radio to admit the prank.
That said, it got so pervasive that the Eagles were compelled to actually released a statement denying the rumor.
"Early this morning we have received several inquiries regarding the rumors regarding Andy Reid and Jon Gruden. This was simply a rumor and there is no basis to it at all. It is simply not true."
So just the like John Clayton fueled speculation about Jeff Fisher being the Eagles defensive coordinator, this little saga fizzles out.
