Lions vs. Eagles 2012: Philly's trend of blowing late leads is 'disturbing'

Philadelphia fans are fed up with Michael Vick and the Eagles after losing in overtime to the Detroit Lions.

The Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Detroit Lions 26-23 in overtime at Lincoln Finincial Field on Sunday afternoon.

With the defeat, the Eagles dropped a game behind the New York Giants and into a second-place tie with the Washington Redskins in the NFC East at 3-3.

It's a tough time to be an Eagle, with expectations once again appearing to dwarf the reality of Andy Reid's club.

As Jordan Raanan points out on Bleeding Green Nation, this group has become particularly frustrating for the fans:

It was easily the most disturbing of the Eagles (3-3) defeats. They blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead and continued gifting the opposition with self-inflicted turnovers. Michael Vick was Michael Vick, the offensive line was the offensive line and the defensive line was the defensive line, which means not very good at getting to the quarterback.

Luckily, the Eagles have a much-needed bye week coming up to lick their wounds.
