Eagles backup tight end Evan Moore will miss Philadelphia's season finale against the New York Giants because of a back injury.
Philadelphia Eagles tight end Evan Moore will miss Philadelphia's Week 17 contest against the New York Giants, because of a back injury.
Moore was signed by the Eagles on Dec. 20, after Clay Harbor was placed on injured reserve. Moore was waived by the Seattle Seahawks earlier in December, and had just one reception in 14 games prior to being waived.
University of Massachusetts product Emil Igwenagu will back up starting tight end Brent Celek on Sunday in Moore's place. Igwenagu has appeared in just two games this season, and has not seen a target.
Philadelphia's Week 17 game has absolutely no bearing on their 2012 season, but the game still has a pair of ramifications: the game will determine Philadelphia's slot in the 2013 NFL Draft, and, an Eagles win would officially eliminate the Giants from playoff contention.
Kickoff between the Giants and Eagles is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET, from MetLife Stadium. Televised coverage can be found on Fox.
