NFL Free Agency Rumors: Demetrius Bell To Visit Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles organization was rocked today by the news that All Pro left tackle Jason Peters ruptured his achillies tendon while training and will likely be lost for the entire 2012 season. The team quickly wrapped up a one year deal with LT King Dunlap, who started twice for them last year, but is also quickly moving on other fronts for a possible replacement for Peters.

Sources has confirmed that the team will host former Bills LT Demetrius Bell for a free agent visit. The 27 year old Bell has started 30 games over the last three seasons for Buffalo. Like Peters himself, the Bell was a 7th round pick of the Bills.

He’s massive at 6-5, 307 pounds and just so happens to be the son of NBA hall of famer Karl Malone.

Bell had a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers today, a meeting that CSN’s Ruben Frank says could “very likely” end with him signing there.

Andy Reid said earlier today that he and GM Howie Roseman would be looking at a number of places to ensure that the hole left by Peters is filled.

“Howie and I will sort out the roster situation for the offensive line,” said Reid. “We are glad to have King [Dunlap] back as a part of our offensive line and we will continue to scan the free agent market, also knowing the draft is less than a month away.”
