Asante Samuel Trade Rumors: Eagles Reportedly Still Shopping Cornerback

The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly still looking to deal veteran cornerback Asante Samuel (via ESPN). Samuel has been on the trading block basically since last season. Samuel's demands, specifically for a long-term deal, have reportedly killed two recent trade deals (via Matt Alkire's Twitter).

The Eagles have been talking to several teams about sending Samuel their way recently. Philadelphia appears to want to make a deal before the 2012 NFL Draft, which starts next week. Samuel has previously said that he wants to remain an Eagle. He also showed up at the team's voluntary workouts which began this week.

Samuel is due to make $9.9 million this season. He's made 367 tackles (330 solo), 45 interceptions and scored five touchdowns in a nine-year career that spans playing for the New England Patriots and the Eagles.
