2012 NFL Mock Draft: Philadelphia Eagles Select Mark Barron, S, Alabama

In SB Nation's latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft, Ryan Van Bibber projects that the Philadelphia Eagles will use the 15th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft to select Mark Barron, a safety from Alabama.

15. Philadelphia Eagles, Mark Barron, S, Alabama

The Eagles do have last year's second-round pick, Jaiquawan Jarrett, but early returns were not good last year. Barron is a blue chip talent. He can step in and play at a high level right away, giving the Eagles an instant upgrade that fixes a real problem spot from last year.

Barron, a 6-foot-2, 218-pounder, missed the NFL combine after surgery to repair a double hernia, but recovered in time to compete in Alabama's pro day on March 7. National Football Post ranks Barron No. 15 on its NFL Draft Big Board and No. 1 among strong safeties.
