Brian Dawkins, maybe one of the most well respected former Philadelphia Eagles in history, has made his retirement public, and now he wants to make sure he retires an Eagle. Dawkins is set to sign a one-day contract with Philadelphia, a franchise he spent 13 of his 16 seasons with, so he can retire in Eagle-green uniform.
Dawkins, who spent the last three season with the Denver Broncos, will make his retirement official on Monday at a press conference at 11 a.m. The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting many of Dawkins former Eagle teammates plan to attend the conference.
On the field, the Eagles' franchise plans on honoring the nine-time Pro Bowler during a prime time contest against the New York Giants on Sept. 28.
