McBriar will have the chance to compete for the job with second year man Chas Henry. It's a no-lose move for the Eagles, who are either getting the punter who has twice made the All-Pro team or they can cut him loose if Henry outplays him in camp.
Last season McBriar was placed on the injured reserve list with a case of "drop foot", a nerve problem which bothered his left foot. If the seven-year veteran is back to full strength, Philadelphia might have found itself a steal right before the 2012 season gets going in full-swing.
As pointed out in the article linked above, McBriar was epically good in 2010, leading the NFL in both average and net average.
It will be without question one of the camp battles to keep a close eye on.
