The Baltimore Ravens visit Philadelphia Sunday to play the Eagles in a meeting of two teams who won their openers.
The Baltimore Ravens opened their season by blowing the doors off the Cincinnati Bengals on the Monday night stage. Sunday, Baltimore visits the Philadelphia Eagles, a team that also won its opener, but in a far uglier fashion against a Cleveland Browns team starting a rookie quarterback.
Michael Vick racked up 317 yards through the air in Cleveland in Week 1, but at the cost of four interceptions and by throwing the ball 56 times, a career high. Joe Flacco's Week 1 performance was far more efficient, even as the team debuted a new no-huddle look: he went 21 of 29 for 299 yards and two scores with no turnovers. The Eagles' LeSean McCoy ran for 110 yards; Ray Rice leads the Ravens in rushing with 68 yards and two touchdowns, all on 10 carries.
Philadelphia receivers DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin did not practice Thursday, though head coach Andy Reid believes both will play Sunday. Ravens defensive end Pernell McPhee did not practice Thursday, but is believed to be fine to play Sunday. Ravens center Matt Birk returned to practice Thursday afternoon.
Both teams got quality play from their defenses in Week 1, though the Ravens did allow 129 yards on the ground -- Baltimore made up their softness in the run game by sacking Brandon Weeden four times and forcing two turnovers.
Ravens-Eagles kicks off Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET from Lincoln Financial Field. CBS will have regional coverage. The Eagles are favored by a point on most books.
