The Flyers begin their three-game road trip tonight against the Anaheim Ducks, who are fresh off a seven-game losing streak and a coaching change.
The 13-7-3 Philadelphia Flyers travel to Anaheim to face the 7-13-4 Ducks tonight, which represents the first of back-to-back west coast road games – a three-game road trip altogether.
It has been nearly a week since the Flyers played, when they were blanked by the New York Rangers last Saturday night. The Ducks played two nights ago, when they ended their seven-game losing streak with an impressive 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadians. Tonight's game against the Flyers is game four of the Ducks current six-game home stand.
Although the Ducks are tied with the Islanders for the worst record in the league with 18 points, they could be a dangerous team on the verge of a turnaround because of a much-needed coaching change. Yesterday Randy Carlyle was fired as head coach, and replaced by Bruce Boudreau. Judging by the reaction at Anaheim Calling – our Ducks blog – Ducks fans are pretty stoked about the coaching change.
The game starts at 10:00 pm EST and can be seen locally on CN8. For more on the Flyers check out our blog, Broad Street Hockey.
