VIDEO: Scott Hartnell Talks About Being Selected As An NHL All-Star

Philadelphia Flyers left winger Scott Hartnell was named to the 2012 NHL All-Star Game earlier today. Hartnell was selected to replace injured Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews. The All-Star game will take place in Ottawa on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m.

Hartnell talked about being selected as an All-Star today. Hartnell said he "was a little nervous" when he got a text message from Brendan Shanahan, a former NHLer who now watches over the league's discipline, among other things.

The trip to All-Star weekend will be Hartnell's first since he played in the YoungStars Game in 2002 as a member of the Nashville Predators. Hartnell has 25 goals this season with Philadelphia, 13 of which have come on the power-play, which ranks him first in the league. Hartnell is only five goals away from tying his career-high of 30, which he set back in 2008-2009.
