Newly acquired defenseman Pavel Kubina should make his Philadelphia Flyers debut Tuesday, as Philly visits the Winnipeg Jets at the MTS Centre. Kubina, who was traded from the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday, will enter a Flyers' lineup that begins a four-game road trip and have earned just two victories in their last eight games.
On Saturday, Philadelphia dropped an in-state rivalry game to the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-4. Despite the loss, Flyers' left-winger James van Riemsdyk returned to the lineup, and netted two goals after missing the last 15 games with a concussion. Philadelphia also debuted acquired defenseman Nicklas Grossman, who was playing for the Dallas Stars.
Meanwhile, the Jets (29-26-6, 64 points) are winners of 11 of their last 12 and looking for a four-game, series sweep of the Flyers this season. On Jan. 31, Winnipeg earned a 2-1 shootout victory over Philadelphia, which previous had lost 6-4, Nov. 19, and 9-8, Oct. 27th, to the Jets.
