Flyers Vs. Oilers Final Score: Philadelphia Shut Out On The Road

The Philadelphia Flyers outshot the Edmonton Oilers 35-29, but Devan Dubnyk could not be bested in net on Thursday night. The former first round pick had a 2.97 goals-against average heading into the game, turning back 90.6 percent of his shots faced this season. He was perfect against the Flyers, however, leading the Oilers to a 2-0 victory.

The Oilers scored twice within a span of under five minutes in the second period. Taylor Hall scored midway through a powerplay off an assist by Ryan Whitney. Jordan Eberle scored unassisted from 32 feet out off of a faceoff won by Sam Gagner in the Edmonton zone.

Claude Giroux and Brayden Schenn each had five shots on goal, and Scott Hartnell had four to lead the Flyers. Philadelphia had plenty of chances in the third period, outshooting Edmonton 15-6, but still couldn't get on the board. Ilya Bryzgalov turned back 28 shots on the night.
