Flyers Vs. Devils Final Score: 5-Game Winning Streak Snapped By 4-1 Loss

The Philadelphia Flyers lost a duel of winning streaks on Sunday, falling 4-1 to the New Jersey Devils. They had won the five preceding games, recording three shutouts in that span. Sergei Bobrovsky turned back just 27 of 31 shots against starting in net for the first time since Feb. 18 while Ilya Bryzgalov rested.

Martin Brodeur wasn't tested much on the Devils' end of the ice, making 18 saves on the way to his 650th career win. The Devils got on the board first in the closing minute of the first period on a Patrick Elias tip-in. After a scoreless second period, the Flyers equalized the game just 16 seconds into the third period on a Claude Giroux wristshot assisted by Jaromir Jagr.

The Devils poured it on from there. Ilya Kovalchuk scored his 30th goal of the season to put New Jersey up 3-1 midway through the period. He added two more assists to earn top-star honors. New Jersey has now won four-straight games. The Flyers will hit the road to play the New York Islanders on Thursday.
