James Van Riemsdyk Injury Update: Flyers Forward To Have Foot Surgery, Will Miss 4-6 Weeks

Philadelphia Flyers winger James van Riemsdyk will have surgery on his broken foot, the team announced on Friday.

Van Riemsdyk broke his foot when he attempted to block a shot in the Flyers' 6-3 win over the Islanders on Thursday.

The 4-6 week window could spell the end of the van Riemsdyk's regular season. He was only appearing in his sixth game since being sidelined by a concussion when the foot injury occurred on Thursday. The forward had missed about a month due to the concussion. For the season, van Riemsdyk has 11 goals and 13 assists in 43 games.
