The Philadelphia Flyers and the Pittsburgh Penguins opened up the 2012 Stanley Cup playoffs on Wednesday night, both teams chasing one of the most coveted trophies in professional sports. After one period of play, the Flyers are struggling, trailing the Penguins by a score of 3-0.

Sidney Crosby opened the scoring with a backhand less than four minutes into the game. Tyler Kennedy and Pascal Dupuis added goals to the total as well. Dupuis has a goal and an assist. Neither side incurred a penalty in the first 20 minutes of play.

Flyers goalie Ilya Bryzgalov struggled in net, stopping 10 of 13 shots. Penguins goalie Marc Andre Fleury had a much easy time in the opening frame, turning away just six shots from the offensively challenged Flyers.

Here is the goal by Dupuis, who stunned Bryzalov with a shot from behind the net.
