Flyers Free Agency Rumors: Philadelphia Will Make Inquiries Into Zach Parise, Ryan Suter, According To Report

The Philadelphia Flyers will make inquiries into acquiring Zach Parise and Ryan Suter when the 2012 NHL Free Agency period begins on July 1, an NHL source told the Philadelphia Inquirer. General manager Paul Holmgren said Monday that he is pleased with the team's current personnel, however.

"I think our younger guys are just going to continue to get better," said Holmgren. "You can take what you want out of that. I think we are going to continue to look around and see what ‘s going to make us even better, but I like our forward group."

The Flyers will continue to pursue unrestricted free agents off their 2011-12 squad like defenseman Matt Carle and forward Jaromir Jagr. Holmgren was optimistic that deal could get done for Carle, though Jagr may be more difficult if he opts to test the market.

The Flyers have also made qualifying offers to restricted free agents Jakub Voracek, Marc-Andre Bourdon, Tom Sestito, Ben Holmstrom and Harry Zolnierczyk to retain negotiating rights.
