Jordan Schmaltz is the Philadelphia Flyers draft pick in the latest NHL mock draft.

It seems as the Philadelphia Flyers are thinking defense in the 2012 NHL draft. They won't officially make a selection until the draft begins on Friday, but as of Thursday, the mock drafts are everywhere. And everywhere you'll look, the Flyers will be pursuing defense.

In this particular mock, Jordan Schmaltz is at the center of Philly's attention

This American defenseman is a great skater. He has a pro one-timer already. His excellent stick and puck control is something the Flyers like. He currently needs more of a challenge, and therefore will attend North Dakota in the fall. He once had a verbal commitment to play for the University of Wisconsin at the age of 14 (really!).
