Stay connected for news and updates

Rounds 2-7 of the 2012 NHL Draft take place Saturday at Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center, with television coverage beginning at 10 a.m. on the NHL Network.

The Philadelphia Flyers used their first-round pick (No. 20 overall) to select center Scott Laughton, who played with Oshawa of the OHL last season. The 6-foot, 177-pounder was fifth on the team with 53 points, including 21 goals and 32 assists. He has also competed for the Canadian junior national team, notching the game-winning goal in the gold medal game of the 2011 Under-18 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Laughton was considered a bit of a reach in the first round, as he was projected in most places as a second-rounder.
