The Flyers assigned 26 players to their AHL affiliate ahead of Saturday's lockout, including Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn and Erik Gustafsson.
Hours before the NHL is scheduled to lock their players out, the Flyers assigned 26 players to their AHL affiliate. Most of the players assigned to the Adirondack Phantoms were going to be assigned to the team's minor league team anyway, however the impending lockout did add some familiar names to the list.
Sean Couturier, Brayden Schenn, Erik Gustafsson, Eric Wellwood, Zac Rinaldo and Harry Zolnierczyk joined some of the Phantoms best players from a year ago - including Jason Akeson, Matt Ford, Brandon Manning and Ben Holmstrom.
The Phantoms are due to begin practices on September 29 at the Flyers' Skate Zone in Voorhees, New Jersey. For those Flyers fans looking to watch some familiar faces, this may be the last chance they get to watch their favorite players for a few weeks.
