All Phillies Coaches Will Return For 2012

Rumors that Phillies' bench coach Pete Mackanin may leave for a managerial position can be put to rest. According to Matt Gelb of Philly.com Mackanin, along with the rest of the Phillies coaching staff will return in 2012.

The Phillies have reached contract agreements with their entire major-league coaching staff, the team announced Thursday. All six members of Charlie Manuel's staff will return in 2012.

For the second consecutive season the Philadelphia Phillies owned the best record in the Majors, only to see their season fall short of a championship in two straight playoffs. The Phillies won 102 games this season, led by 67 year-old manager Charlie Manuel. Manuel has been the manager since 2005 and helped bring the Phillies their first championship in 28 years when they defeated the Tampa Rays in 2008.

Manuel is excited to have his entire staff returning for another season:

"I couldn't be happier to have the whole staff back for another season," Manuel said in a statement. "Their dedication and work ethic speak for themselves, and they were a huge part of our 102 wins."
