The Philadelphia Phillies resume business this evening after a two day break as they welcome the NL West leading Arizona Diamondbacks to town for a three game set. The Diamondbacks have ridden a six game winning streak to the top of the NL West, although were also no doubt aided by the Phillies taking three of four from the SF Giants last week.
The D'Backs are coming off a three game sweep of the Mets over the weekend, while the Phillies split a pair of game with the Nationals and had the rubber game rained out. That rainout means Roy Halladay will start this evening and Cliff Lee will go tomorrow. Halladay, who has won his last four starts and has not lost at Citizens Bank Park since mid-April, will go for his NL leading 16th win against rookie Josh Collmenter. Collmenter has only pitched one inning of relief against the Phils while Halladay is 3-0 with a 2.61 ERA in his career against Arizona.
The Phillies have dominated the NL West going 21-9 this year. However, the D'Backs did take two of three from the Phils back in late April. Overall, the Phillies have won 13 of their last 15.
