Starting pitcher Cole Hamels will make his return to the Philadelphia rotation Sunday, when the Phillies host the San Diego Padres (1:35 p.m. ET on PHL 17) in the series finale of a three-game set at Citizen Bank Park. Hamels will be making his first start since being suspended five games because of his admitted intentional plunking of Washington Nationals outfield Bryce Harper earlier in the week.
Hamels (3-1, 2.45 ERA) will oppose Jeff Supan (2-0, 0.90 ERA), who will try and help the Padres (12-22) earn its first season series victory over Philly since 2006.
On Saturday, San Diego held Philadelphia's offense in-check in a 2-1 victory, while on Friday the Phillies won 7-3.
