The Phillies will look to get hot against the Astros for a two game set starting Monday night.
Philadelphia really needs some home cooking to continue after beating the San Diego Padres two out of three over the weekend. The Phillies are 16-19, bad enough for dead last in the NL East.
After Houston, Philly travels to Chicago to take on the hapless Cubs, so perhaps a chance to get over .500 lays ahead this week.
Joe Blanton takes the mound for the Phillies tonight. Blanton has pitched very well, with a 3-3 record but a sterling 3.24 ERA so far. However in his last start he gave up four earned runs in six and two third innings opposing the Mets after pitching a complete game shutout against Atlanta.
Lucas Harrell will be on the bump for Houston. The 26-year-old has had a rough start to the campaign, with a 4.58 ERA but a respectable 2-2 mark.
In his last start he pitched in a 5-2 loss where he gave up three runs (two earned) in five and a third innings against Miami.
The Phillies will have to get something going against Harrell which could be a problem considering how awful the offense has been all year.
