Play was suspended in the middle of the eighth inning of Tuesday night's game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets due oncoming inclement weather at Citi Field. The Mets lead the Phillies 6-3, and would be declared the winner if play cannot be resumed Tuesday. A game is declared "official" after five innings.

Joe Blanton started for the Phillies, and was rocked with six earned runs off nine hits and two walks in five innings of work. He gave up a solo home run to Mets' rookie starter Jeremy Hefner in the fourth inning, giving the New York a 4-2 lead. Hefner gave up three earned runs off six hits and no walks.
