Kyle Kendrick will look to build off his recent complete game shutout, as the Phillies open a three-game set with the Marlins.
The Philadelphia Phillies will begin a three-game series with the Miami Marlins on Friday, when Kyle Kendrick opposes Mark Buehrle.
At 27-25 the Phillies are in fourth place in the NL East, but only three games behind the division-leading Washington Nationals. The team they're facing this weekend – the Marlins – are second in the division, half a game back of the Nationals.
The Phillies have played well since their four-game skid in mid-May – they're 6-2 in their last eight games.
Friday's pitcher, Kyle Kendrick, is 1-4 on the season, but fresh off his best start of the season – a complete game shutout over the St. Louis Cardinals, in which he struck out four, walked none and allowed seven hits.
