The Phillies look to get back on the right track against Jeff Karstens and the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night.
After dropping both games of a doubleheader on Sunday, the Philadelphia Phillies look to bounce back against their interstate rivals, the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Who would of thought at this point the Pirates would be faring better than the Phillies? However, that's what the records say much to the chagrin of Philly fans.
Joe Blanton will look to get things turned around when he takes the hill on Monday night. Blanton has been very sub-standard thus far with a 6-6 record and an ERA north of five. The offense has been the main issue for Charlie Manuel's club, but Blanton certainly hasn't been helping the cause.
Opposing him will be Jeff Karstens, who is making his first start since April 17th. Karstens has been on the disabled list since that day due to a shoulder injury.
The Phillies are 34-40 and in desperate need of a string of wins. It won't be easy to get them against Pittsburgh, but the tide needs to turn at some point.
