Cliff Lee Trade Rumors: Phillies-Rangers Deal Could Involve Prospect Mike Olt

Stay connected for news and updates

As much as the Philadelphia Phillies don't want to admit pitcher Cliff Lee is on the trading block, the ace lefty is on the block. The latest evidence came Monday from ESPN.com's Buster Olney, who reported via Twitter that a source told him the Phillies and Texas Rangers are discussing deals.

According to Olney, if the Phillies do a deal it will probably want Rangers' third baseman prospect Mike Olt in return.

Olt, 23, is currently hitting .293, slugging . 593 with 27 home runs for Texas Double-A affiliate, the Frisco Rough Riders.

Meanwhile, ESPN.com's Jason Stark has reported another team extremely interested in Olt is the Miami Marlins, who are looking to trade their ace Josh Johnson.
