Freddy Galvis has been reinstated following the completion of a 50-game suspension but will still need to recover from a fractured back.

Philadelphia Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis was reinstated on Friday following the completion of a 50-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. While Galvis may be allowed to play, the 22-year-old isn't able to as he is still recovering from a fractured back dating back to June 9.

Galvis has been told not to participate in "game situations" until at least Sept. 3 and as the Phillies minor-league affiliates will be all but done playing by then, the organization will be forced to find another spot for the infielder to get back into shape.

Via Philly.com:

"We'll have to decide what we'll do with him," [assistant general manager Scott] Proefrock said. "Obviously, he won't be ready to play right away."

Galvis will likely be participating in the fall instructional league in order to prepare for winter ball.
