After slowly working their way out of the NL East basement, the Philadelphia Phillies are right back where it started at the beginning of the week -- the cellar. It was a short lived experience, but Monday's loss to the visiting Atlanta Braves placed the Phillies in a last-place tie with the Miami Marlins.
On Tuesday, ace Cole Hamels (11-6) will try and help his team get back out of last place as he opposes the Braves' Mike Minor (6-7) in Game 2 of the three-game series. This could be a tough task for Hamels, who has only won once in his last seven starts, while the Braves are 11-2 in their last 13 games.
