The Philadelphia Phillies continued to roll on Wednesday, riding the arm of Cliff Lee to their seventh straight win with a 3-1 victory over the Miami Marlins.
Lee pitched seven strong innings and Jimmy Rollins blasted a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to give the Phillies the win and a sweep over the Marlins. The win improved Cliff Lee's record to 5-7 with a 3.36 ERA and Jonathan Papelbon finished the game by earning his 34th save of the year.
Josh Johnson (8-12) gave a solid effort for the Marlins, going seven innings and only allowing four hits, but got the loss after Rollins home run broke a 1-1 tie. That makes back-to-back games with a home run for Rollins who has a hit in 13 of the Phillies' last 14 games.
The Phillies move to 72-71 and are above .500 for the first time since June 3. The Phillies will now travel to Houston to take on the Astros, holders of the worst record in MLB.

Suddenly in the midst of a tightening National League playoff race, the Philadelphia Phillies took care of business against the Miami Marlins despite a rough night on the mound, capturing their sixth straight victory by topping Miami, 9-7.
Starter Roy Halladay went 6.1 innings for the Phillies, who used a three-run first and three-run sixth to get ahead early against the Marlins. The Phillies loaded the bases in the first inning and although Ryan Howard grounded into a double play, scoring one run, hits from Carlos Ruiz and Domonic Brown gave Philadelphia a three-run first frame.
Jimmy Rollins' homer in the sixth inning scored Halladay, who had driven in Michael Martinez earlier in the inning.
Halladay was not his best on the night in Philadelphia, giving up five earned over his 6.1 innings, and was chased in the seventh inning. The Phillies bullpen withheld the Marlins' late charge, holding the Marlins at seven runs for the night.
Rollins' sacrifice fly in the seventh inning after the Marlins had posted four runs in the top of the frame made sure to keep the game out of the reach of Miami.
The Phillies wrap the three-game set with the Marlins on Wednesday, as they send Cliff Lee to the mound looking for their seventh straight win.

With a playoff berth somehow just five games out of the Philadelphia Phillies' reach, Roy Halladay is exactly the man they want on the mound with hopes of moving another game closer to the St. Louis Cardinals in the hunt for the National League's second Wild Card berth.
Halladay is coming off a 7-1/3-inning, one-run performance against Cincinnati and has wins in five of his last six decisions. Here's the lineup the Phillies will put out behind him as they try to win a sixth straight game.
1. Jimmy Rollins SS
2. Juan Pierre LF
3. Chase Utley 2B
4. Ryan Howard 1B
5. Carlos Ruiz C
6. Domonic Brown RF
7. John Mayberry CF
8. Michael Martinez 3B
9. Roy Halladay P
The Phillies will get Carlos Ruiz back in the lineup and hit him fifth. Ruiz missed more than a month with a foot injury before coming back Sunday, arriving at the perfect time, as his replacement, Erik Kratz, was 0-for-10 in his last three games. Juan Pierre also replaces Ty Wigginton in left field from last night's game and will bat second.
Here's the Marlins' lineup:
1. Bryan Petersen LF
2. Justin Ruggiano CF
3. Jose Reyes SS
4. Giancarlo Stanton RF
5. Carlos Lee 1B
6. Greg Dobbs 3B
7. Donovan Solano 2B
8. Rob Brantly C
9. Nathan Eovaldi P
Eovaldi is 4-11 on the year with losses in two outings against the Phillies.

The Philadelphia Phillies will go for their sixth straight win on Tuesday night with Roy Halladay on the mound. The Phillies opened their three-game set against the Marlins on Monday night with a 3-1 win. It was starting pitcher Kyle Kendrick who came through for Charlie Manuel in Game 1, giving up just two hits in seven innings of work.
Halladay will now take the ball and try to keep the winning streak alive. The ace has won three of his last four starts, and is coming off an outing against the Reds where he pitched into the eighth. He shut down a feared Cincinnati lineup, allowing just one run in 7.1 innings of work. He'll look to carry that over against a Marlins team that he's fared well against all season, posting a 2.57 ERA against the Fish. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. ET.

Behind another impressive outing from Kyle Kendrick, the Philadelphia Phillies opened their series against the Marlins Monday night with a 3-1 win.
Kendrick was dazzling all night, overmatching Miami's lineup and allowing just two hits in seven innings of work. He struck out eight and gave up just one earned run, a sacrifice fly to Donovan Solano in his final inning. Kendrick had a 2.95 ERA in six starts in the month of August, and he seems to just keep getting stronger as the season progresses. He's allowed two earned runs or fewer in seven of his last eight starts.
Wade LeBlanc and the Miami bullpen kept the Phillies lineup relatively in check, but a three-run rally in the fifth inning would prove to be the difference with Kendrick cruising on the other side. Ty Wigginton led off the inning with a walk and Domonic Brown followed with a two-run homer to right. Brown worked the count to 3-1 and got exactly what he was looking for from LeBlanc, grooving the offering over the right-field wall for his second homer of the season. Michael Martinez added to the rally, ripping a double off LeBlanc and then scoring from third on a wild pitch.
It was the fifth straight win for the Phillies. Roy Halladay will take the mound for the second game of the series on Tuesday night. He'll be opposed by Nate Eovaldi.

The Philadelphia Phillies will begin a three-game series with the Miami Marlins Monday as Philadelphia attempts to keep its postseason hopes alive.

Kyle Kendrick (8-10, 3.96 ERA) will get the start for Philadelphia Monday. He's won four of his last five starts, including his last start against Miami. Kendrick is 2-0 against Miami this year, posting a 1.46 ERA over 12-1/3 innings. He's struck out 10 during that stretch while allowing just two earned runs.
The Marlins will counter with Wade LeBlanc (2-3, 2.72 ERA) on the mound. LeBlanc will be making just his seventh start of the season after spending time in both the bullpen and starting rotation this year. LeBlanc hasn't started a game against the Phillies this season but is 1-1 in two career starts against Philadelphia, with an 1.80 ERA.
