After an unexpected day off, the Philadelphia Phillies will try to gain more ground in the NL Wild Card on Wednesday night at Citi Field. Cole Hamels makes his scheduled turn in the rotation, with Tyler Cloyd getting bumped to Thursday's make-up game. Hamels has been one of the best pitchers in the game since the beginning of August, but he has a 4.09 ERA against the Mets this season. The Cardinals made up a half-game in the Wild Card on Tuesday night so the Phils will rely on Hamels to keep pace.
The Mets will send rookie Matt Harvey to the mound, opting to push everyone in the rotation back a day. This is just Harvey's 10th start of his career, but he's already picked up a win against the Phils. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET and CSN will have the broadcast.
