Trying to follow up a 3-2 win over Chivas USA are the Union, who scored two or more goals in a game for only the third time in the 2011 MLS season. Recent signing Veljko Paunovic picked up his first ever MLS goal, and Carlos Ruiz, along with Danny Mwanga, scored to give the Union a one goal win over a surging Chivas. Led by MLS leading scorer (tied with Thierry Henry and Ladon Donovan) Charlie Davies, United added firepower to their already impressive arsenal by acquiring central attacking midfielder Dwayne DeRosario from the New York Red Bulls.
