Philly.com Sports: The NHL and NHLPA met on Monday night in an attempt to better understand one another. Frank Seravalli explains whether any progress was made despite the union not making another offer to the owners.

After an 8-day hiatus in negotiations, the NHLPA requested a meeting with the NHL but did not present a concrete, new proposal to give the league's policy makers anything to even think about.
