Temple Owls basketball suffered a huge blow this week, losing senior big man and defensive anchor, Michael Eric, for six weeks with a right knee injury.
The Temple Owls basketball team suffered a serious blow on Wednesday when it was discovered that big man, Michael Eric will miss the next six weeks of the season with an injury to his right knee.
Eric, 6' 11", was averaging a double-double on the season with 10.5 points and 11.3 rebounds per game, along with two blocks per contest. The Owls are 3-2 on the season, and 0-1 when Eric does not play. The only loss that came with Eric on the court was against a good Purdue team – a game in which Eric got in early foul trouble and played only 14 minutes. When Eric has played 28 or more minutes this season, the Owls are 3-0.
The Senior was well on his way to the best year of his career. In his first three seasons at Temple he never averaged more than 10 points or 10 rebounds, and never played more than 20 minutes per contest.
The Owls next game is Saturday, December 3, when they host Central Michigan.
