Temple gets a few extra days off as foul weather forced a postponement of Friday's game against Detroit.
Friday's game between the Temple Owls and the Detroit Titans has been postponed due to poor weather conditions. High winds combined with snow made it too difficult for Detroit to travel to Philadelphia for the Chevrolet Gotham Classic. The Gazelle Group, which runs the classic, announced the cancellation on Thursday. The game will be rescheduled for a later date, according to the Temple website.
Temple is scheduled to return to action on Monday, Dec. 31 against the Bowling Green Falcons. That game will take place at 2 p.m. at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia. The Owls are coming off of their biggest win of the year after upsetting then No. 3 Syracuse, 83-79, last Saturday. Temple is 9-2, and has two non-conference games remaining before it will begin Atlantic 10 competition against Xavier on Jan. 10.
Detroit's game against Canisius, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 30, is expected to go ahead as planned.
