Temple Vs. Xavier: Owls Storm Musketeers 85-72

Senior guard Ramone Moore continued his torrid February with 30 points in Temple's 85-72 victory over the visiting Xavier Musketeers on Saturday night. The win keeps Temple atop the A-10 with an 8-2 conference record, and the Owls improved to 18-5 overall.

Temple shot 45% from behind the three point arc, including a combined six makes from Moore and back court mate Khalif Wyatt, who finished with 18 points overall.

Tu Holloway, Xavier's senior leader, led the Musketeers with 23 points, but Temple held a major edge on the boards, out rebounding Xavier 38-27. After starting the year 8-0, Xavier has lost nine of its last 17 games.

Temple will next take to the court on Wednesday when they travel to play St. Bonaventures.

Xavier Vs. Temple Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Temple Owls will look to win their eighth consecutive game tonight as they face off against conference rival, the Xavier Musketeers, who trail the Owls by only a half game in the Atlatnic 10 standings. The game will be played at the Liacouras Center, where the Owls have only lost one game all season.

Xavier is coming off a home victory over the Rhode Island Rams. They're led in scoring by guards, Tu Holloway, who averages 16.3 per contest, and Mark Lyons, who averages 15.9. The Musketeers are 5-4 on the road this season.

Temple Vs. Xavier: Owls Look To Maintain Atlantic 10 Lead

The Temple Owls look to extend a long winning streak and remain atop the Atlantic 10 Conference on Saturday night at 9 p.m. when they host the Xavier Musketeers. (ESPN 2)

Temple (18-5, 7-2) hasn't lost since Jan. 14, rattling off a string of seven straight victories, five of those by double-digits. The Owls trailed by 12 points at halftime against George Washington Wednesday night, but pieced together a late 13-0 run that resulted in a 79-72 victory. The ever-potent guard duo of Ramone Moore and Khalif Wyatt combined for 47 points, but fellow starter Juan Fernandez suffered a hip-pointer and is considered day-to-day.

Xavier is 7-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference, just one-half game behind Temple. The Musketeers have won three straight in league play, including an 84-66 thrashing of Rhode Island on Wednesday paced by Tu Holloway's 20 points, 10 rebounds and six assists.
