Temple Likely To Accept Big East Invitation On Wednesday, According To Report

The Temple Owls could be accepting the call of the Big East to return as early as Wednesday, according to a report.

Temple University's Board of Trustees will meet via conference call Wednesday afternoon to discuss the fate of the school's athletic program and perhaps accept an invitation to become a member of the Big East Conference in all sports. (via CSN Philly)

Temple was booted from the Big East eight years ago for poor performance and attendance in football. This time around, the Owls would be a full-member of the Big East participating in all sports.

Temple has been talking to the Big East conference for weeks about a replacement for former full-member West Virginia, which departed for the Big 12. The move left the Big East with just 7 football members for the 2012 season.
