NCAA Bracket 2012: South Florida Earns Spot In The Tournament, Will Play Temple

Stay connected for news and updates

The Temple Owls now, officially, have an opponent for their first-round game in the 2012 NCAA tournament. Temple will face the University of South Florida Bulls, who beat California by a final score of 65-54 in Wednesday night's First Four game.

The Bulls earned the 12th seed in the Midwest Regional thanks to their win and a soft bubble of teams in contention for this year's invitations to the big dance. South Florida dominated Cal in the first half by a score of 36-13. Cal did a little catching up later in the game, but the final score makes it seem much closer than it really was for the Bulls.

Temple will be seeing much more of South Florida in the near future. The Owls will join USF in the Big East next season.

Temple and South Florida will play on Friday, March 16, at 9:50 p.m. Eastern.
