The St. Joseph's Hawks men's basketball program will begin to try to play their way into the NCAA Tournament Tuesday, as they host the Charlotte 49ers in a first-round Atlantic 10 Conference Tournament contest at Hagan Arena (7 p.m. ET). The Hawks (19-12, 9-7), the No. 5 seed, will look to advance to the second round with a victory over the No. 12-seeded 49ers (13-6, 5-11).

The winner will play the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in the second round of the four-stage, single-elimination tournament, which will play its last three days in Atlantic City, NJ. Last season, St. Joe's made it the semifinals, where they lost to the Dayton Flyers.
