The Temple Owls were blown out, 26-3, in the first half of their Week 2 matchup against Maryland. The Owls were coming off an impressive showing against Villanova last week, and Maryland looked particularly ugly on offense against William & Mary. But it was the Terps, looking to avenge last year's blowout loss, who came out on offense and lit it up in the second quarter for the 23-point lead.
Maryland true freshman quarterback Perry Hills is 7-of-14 for 86 yards, converting two touchdowns through the air and one on the ground. Hills has been extremely impressive, particularly in the second quarter, but the Terps defense has also completely bottled up the Temple rushing attack. The Owls gashed Nova on the ground last week, but they're averaging 1.3 yards per carry today. Quarterback Chris Coyer has carried it 10 times for just 33 yards, and hit only one pass through the air.
