Villanova Vs. Cincinnati Final Score: Wildcats Lose 72-68

The Villanova Wildcats dropped their final regular season game to the Cincinnati Bearcats by a final score of 72 to 68. The loss drops the Wildcats to 12-18 on the season and 5-13 in the Big East, which is good for 14th in the standings – out of 16 teams.

Saturday's loss marks the second consecutive for the Wildcats, who finished their disappointing season by losing eight of their last 10.

Dominic Cheek, Maalik Wayns and Mouphtaou Yarou combined for 52 of 'Nova's 68 points while the rest of the team scored just 16. The bench mustered only two points on six shot attempts, while the Bearcats' bench scored 12 on 12 shots.

Both teams shot 46 percent from the floor, but the Wildcats were awarded two extra shots thanks to two more offensive rebounds than the Wildcats.

Cincinnati finished the season 22-9 and 12-6 in the Big East.

Villanova Vs. Cincinnati Halftime Score: Wildcats Trail 40-32

The Villanova Wildcats are looking to end their disappointing season on a high note. They traveled to New Jersey and beat Rutgers on Thursday, and Saturday they play the Cincinnati Bearcats in the final regular season game. The Wildcats trail the Bearcats by eight at halftime.

Cincinnati shot 52 percent from the floor in the first half and grabbed four more rebounds than the Wildcats. Yancy Gates leads the Bearcats in scoring with 10, but they have enjoyed a balanced scoring attack thus far, with five players scoring at least two baskets.

The Wildcats are being carried by their backcourt of Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek, who have combined for 20 of the team's 32 points. Mouphtaou Yarou has scored eight of the other 12. JayVaughn Pinkston and Maurice Sutton have two a piece, and Villanova's bench has yet to record a point.
