NFL Beats World Series Game 5 In Ratings

New, 2 comments

Tracking the NFL vs MLB ratings war in the past month has become a bit of a hobby here, even though it's mostly been a one sided affair... The NFL has consistently beaten the MLB playoffs in national ratings over the past month, but last night we actually had a World Series game on. Could that possibly beat Sunday Night Football?

No. According to Darren Rovell, the NFL won again.

Game 4 of the World Series between the Rangers and Giants drew a rating of 10.4. The Steelers/Saints game drew an 11.8.

Tonight might be better for baseball as they go up against Monday Night Football. The World Series will feature a better pitching matchup with Cliff Lee vs Tim Lincecum and it's a potential series clincher for the Giants... Plus, the game is on broadcast TV and the NFL game between the Colts and Texans will be on cable (ESPN).
